Candidates claiming PSTM status must submit appropriate documentary evidence. Documents such as SSLC, HSC, Transfer Certificate, Degree Certificate, mark sheets and certificates from educational institutions may be used as supporting evidence, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.

How Final Merit Is Prepared

For both Group II and Group IIA Services, the marks obtained in the respective Paper II determine the ranking. Paper I is qualifying and does not determine the final rank.

If two candidates obtain equal marks, the candidate with the higher qualification will be placed higher in the merit list. If their qualifications are also the same, the older candidate gets preference. If both qualification and age are the same, the candidate who submitted the application earlier will be placed higher based on the application number.

Certificate Verification and Counselling

Candidates who perform well in the Main Examination will be considered for certificate verification and counselling according to the prescribed ratios.

For both Group II and Group IIA Services, candidates are admitted to Onscreen Certificate Verification based on their rank and category. Physical Certificate Verification and counselling are subsequently conducted according to the ratios specified by TNPSC.

Candidates must ensure that the information entered in the application is correct and that all required certificates are available.

TNPSC Group 2 Application Fee

Candidates applying for the preliminary examination generally have to pay an examination fee of ₹100, unless they are eligible for an exemption.

Candidates shortlisted for the Main Examination and not eligible for fee exemption have to pay:
