Selection Process

The MP Police Constable Driver selection process consists of multiple stages:

The written examination is the first stage. Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage according to the prescribed cutoff percentile.

The rulebook states that candidates up to seven times the number of advertised vacancies in the relevant vertical category will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test based on the cutoff percentile.

Physical Efficiency Test

The Physical Efficiency Test is an important stage of the recruitment.

For Constable Driver candidates, the physical efficiency test includes an 800-metre run. The test carries a maximum of 40 marks.

Candidates must obtain at least 8 marks out of 40, which represents the minimum 30% qualifying requirement for the Physical Efficiency Test.

Only one opportunity is provided for the 800-metre run according to Schedule One of the rulebook.

Trade Test

The driving trade test is qualifying in nature. Candidates must pass the trade test, but it is not treated in the same way as the scored physical efficiency component.

Therefore, candidates should prepare seriously for both physical fitness and practical driving skills.

Physical Standards

The prescribed physical standards differ according to the force/category.

For the Special Armed Force, the rulebook specifies physical standards including height and chest measurements.

For the District Police Force, the rulebook specifies, among other standards:
